I'm sure Alexandre, as a teacher and a guy who enjoy life, uses both sides to deliver his content to his students. I don't know why some people think you can have just one of the two at a time? Probably because they don't know how to do both.

I reallly loved your conference on the mini-wheat complex. Good job.

I've always found myself in position like this, and it's well interpreted like "opposition or contradiction" to people who thinks only on one side at a time.

Can we go both sides? Yeah you bet!

One issue is that some people only think about one dimension at a time or they favour one over the other. In fact, there are those who tend to assume that "frosted" prevents "nutritious" and that, to be taken seriously, you should be exclusively serious. These people probably lead unhappy lives.

Thanks Patrick for the kind words,
I guess I model what I do based on what I like and maybe we all do it. You don't need to have both sides all the time but it sure help people to remember what you do.

Sylvain:

I believe that it is BEST to be a Mini-Wheat! Here's why:

The people who have the biggest impact on society are those that can inform us AND entertain us at the same time. (Like your Art History prof)

Let's look at the alternatives:
Purely Nutritious
The world needs teachers. The world needs thinkers. But look at how much a doctor or scientist earns in a year. (Not that money is the goal - it's just a good indicator of the "value" that society places on their contributions.) Now look at what Jerry Seinfeld made in a year when his show was on the air. Or the cast members of "Friends". Or NHL, NBA, NFL, (etc...) players. Clearly, society values entertainment more than it values information.

Purely Frosted
While society values entertainment, we are a very fickle bunch. Just ask MC Hammer, Rick Astley, or Milli Vanilli. You can be on top of the world one day and the butt of jokes the next day. (Hey - Didn't I see Corey Hart driving the Métro train recently?)

Substance AND Style - that's the magic combination!

Substance AND Style - that's Sylvain Grand'Maison's secret formula!

Keep up the great work!
